Is Your Office Youngster the Social-Media Whiz? E-mail
MI Blog - Social Media
Social Media The Wall Street Journal published an article today suggesting that the younger employees within a company might be the best to suggest new social media tools for the company. It is true that the twenty-something employee group is likely much better at using social media tools than their (older) managers since they "grew up" using tools like Facebook and Twitter.

However, while they understand the functionality these tools offer often they are not privy to the strategic conversations being held at the management level that shape a company's marketing plan. Ensuring this information is filtered down to the "social media expert" in your company is key to a successful implementation of social media in your marketing mix. Partner your social media expert with a marketing executive and ensure the younger understands the goals, market segments, and marketing/sales strategies so they can better suggest which parts of social media are right for your company.
